Our organization
We are part of the REWE GROUP and as the REWE GROUP’s largest IT unit, we are driving the digital transformation of retail and the workplace - for millions of customers every week. With over 2,700 colleagues at eleven locations across five countries, we build the best teams for our digital products and services.
The REWE GROUP's largest IT unit
Almost 100 years ago, the REWE GROUP began its success story as a retail and tourism group in Cologne. Today, the group operates stores and travel agencies in 21 European countries. Every day, it is part of the lives of more than 380,000 employees and millions of customers as they shop for groceries, home improvement, gardening products and convenience foods for on the go, or book their next vacation.
Another part of this strong brand universe is the digital engine, REWE digital. As the central digital unit, we work together with other business units to develop technologies and solutions that ensure the entire group is ready for the future.
Connected across Europe. Linked by technology.
Our distributed organization not only allows us to work closely with different markets, teams, and requirements - it also reflects our cultural diversity. In total, our organization brings together 57 different nationalities.
This diversity is a key factor in REWE digital’s success. After all, different experiences, cultural backgrounds and ways of thinking help us view challenges from various perspectives, develop better solutions and drive innovation.
This creates a strong European network: united by expertise, connected through technology and driven by people who are shaping the digital future of retail together.
Transparency, efficiency and synergies for a growing IT portfolio
As the REWE GROUP’s central technology unit, we work in an interdisciplinary and cross-functional manner, collaborating closely with the various business units. Together, we create transparency regarding applications, products and systems, identify interconnections and pool our expertise. In this way, we leverage synergies, avoid duplication of effort and strategically advance our IT landscape.
Our organization helps us highlight interconnections, leverage synergies and identify opportunities for optimization. At REWE digital, we take a product-oriented approach.
Our structure covers the entire retail process - from in-store operations and digital touchpoints to logistics, procurement and customer communication, all the way to IT architecture and platforms.
