Software Engineer Test Specialist (m/f/d)

For REWE digital Spain, a subsidiary of REWE Group, located in the Technological Park of Andalusia (PTA) in Malaga we are looking for a Software Engineer with experience as Test Specialist with full QA Ownership. You will join the Product Layout Management team and will support us in the creation of the Store Layouting business area.  Store Layouting comprises the overall concept and division/sizing of the sales areas or sections within a store including the design and placement of merchandise on the shelves, as well as the presentation and arrangement of items (groups). 

As the central solution provider for information and telecommunications systems we plan, develop, configure, and operate efficient systems and applications for the REWE Group, one of the leading trade and tourism groups in Germany and Europe with around 390,000 employees.  

 Our team of more than 2,200 IT specialists sets standards for IT implementation in the retail industry and develops new technologies for the sector. Today, we manage more than 80 logistics centers and more than 23,000 local network connections to ensure the continuous supply of data to the 32,000 scanner checkout counters in more than 7,300 stores. 

What you will do:

• As part of the team, you are responsible for Quality assurance (for manual and automated testing) in our team. You stay on top of things and keep a constant eye on the quality of our IT solutions. The Layout Management product is based on different GCP services (e.g. Dataflow, Cloud Functions). The product development is based on Kotlin, Java and Terraform, furthermore SQL related technologies like Postgres are in use.
• Execution of load and performance tests
• Coordination and support of integration tests and E2E tests in collaboration with the departments involved
• Ensure transparent and efficient defect reporting and resolution
• Design and implement product-specific test automation concepts
• Operation and maintenance of the test automation solution in accordance with system changes (framework upgrades, requirement changes, keeping CICD updated)
• Development of a tool for automated test for GCP
• Willingness to get Hands-on in the code
• Work closely together in an agile team with members located in Spain (team language will be English)

What you will bring:

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a test specialist (manual + automated testing) in your latest projects
• In-depth knowledge of test automation development
• Knowledge in following technologies:

• API-Testing (ReadyAPI, Insomnia, JMeter)
• Programming (Java)
• Experience with Cloud Platforms (preferred GCP)
• Experienced in microservices and containers (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Messaging Systems (Kafka, JMS or MQ)
• Version Control (GitHub,GitLab)
• Starving eager to keep learning and touching exploring new languages and frameworks, such as Kotlin and Quarkus

• Interest or experience in being part of agile teams (Scrum)
• Extensive experience in using test management tools such as Xray or Spira for test management and progress tracking
• High degree of self-organization, initiative, and sense of responsibility
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Nice to have:

• ISTQB® Foundation Level certification
• Familiarity with IntelliJ IDEA and Visual Studio Code
• Knowledge of Logging and Monitoring (LogScale, Grafana)
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
