Data Quality Engineer (ext.)

For REWE digital Spain, a subsidiary of REWE Group, located in the Technological Park of Andalusia (PTA) in Malaga we are looking for expert Data Quality Engineer (external) to build robust frameworks, automate validation, evaluate new tools, and shape our data architecture. You will ensure the accuracy and health of our data ecosystem using Python, GitOps practices, and a highly structured approach.

Our team of more than 2,200 IT specialists sets standards for IT implementation in the retail industry and develops new technologies for the sector. Today, we manage more than 80 logistics centers and more than 23,000 local network connections to ensure the continuous supply of data to the 32,000 scanner checkout counters in more than 7,300 stores.

What you will do:

• Tool Evaluation: Systematically assess, compare, and recommend third-party data quality tools and frameworks using a methodological approach.
• Frameworks & Automation: Design and implement scalable data quality checks and anomaly detection using efficient Python code.
• GitOps: Manage kubernates infrastructure, version control, and CI/CD processes for data pipelines.
• Issue Resolution: Investigate root causes of data discrepancies and implement permanent fixes.
• Collaboration: Define data quality metrics and SLAs with cross-functional teams.

What you will bring: 

• Methodological Working Style: Strong analytical mindset with a structured, rigorous approach to problem-solving and technology evaluation.
• Data Quality SME: Deep expertise in data profiling, cleansing, monitoring, and validation.
• Python Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in data engineering contexts
• Data Orchestration: Solid experience with scheduling technologies, specifically Cloud Composer or Apache Airflow.
• GitOps: Hands-on experience with version control and deployment automation. (Kubernetes)
• Logistics: Fluent English, located in Malaga
