For our Architecture team we are looking for a Domain Architect (m/f/d) to work within the REWE digital Fulfillment Tribe.

This is what the job entails:

Objectives

Take over the responsibility for the overall architecture of the fulfillment domain of REWE digital
Be part of the architecture community of REWE to shape the future group wide domain and enterprise architecture
Bridge the gap between technical and business considerations to increase business agility within REWE and to keep our system architecture flexible and ready for the future while keeping a high momentum and development speed

Tasks

Strategic planning and continuous improvement of the fulfillment platform architecture supporting decentralized development in our multi-team setup

Develop the strategic architecture for the fulfillment domain together with involved Solution Architects, Developers, Product Owners and Business Stakeholders
Ensure transparency over the current state of the domain-wide architecture, potential areas of improvement and planned as well as ongoing strategic technical initiatives
Ensure proper management of technical and organizational dependencies and work together with teams and stakeholders on ways to improve team autonomy to keep fast development and feedback cycles

Ensure scalability and resilience of the fulfillment platform

Define technical measures to keep the platform scalable and resilient
Gather and ensure transparency over the non functional requirements

Support of the planning and initiative processes

Make sure architectural considerations are present right from the start of new business initiatives
Support during effort estimations, milestone planning and the creation of migration concepts

Work within the fulfillment technical leadership team to support a holistic strategy and its operationalization for the fulfillment domain

Make sure architectural considerations are present in business and organizational development
Bring technical and architectural innovation into the fulfillment domain

Support business development

Consult business stakeholders around technical options and future business ideas
Take a prominent role in make or buy decisions, cost estimations and business case calculations

Work within the architecture and technology portfolio (ATP) team to shape the overall architecture of the whole REWE

Refine, plan and execute architectural initiatives within the ATP product team
Work with other Domain and Enterprise architects on group wide architecture guidelines

Profile

Degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline or equivalent knowledge and experience
High degree of teamwork, and excellent analytical and communication skills
High presentation and moderation skills
Hands-On mentality
Fluency in both english and german

Nice-to-have

Know-how of Apache Kafka, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes
Programming experience, for example with JAVA / Kotlin, Spring Framework, Angular or other programming languages and frameworks
Pomain-Know-How Retail, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, …
Interested in Domain Driven Design, System-Thinking and other related concepts
Practical experience in lateral leadership
Networking and presence within the Software-Engineering and Architecture-Community

Must have

Practical experience in designing scaled systems, microservices, event-driven architectures
Know-how of modern concepts of the link between technical, domain and organizational structure
Intrinsic motivation to continuously improve your skills and to keep up with current developments in software / domain / enterprise architecture and cloud technologies
